We went for a hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park recently. We took the blue trail to the red trail which goes past the falls and the New Manchester mill ruins. It took us about 2 hours and was pretty easy and was only about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta. There is a book on the history of the mill, which was captured by the Union Army and who forcibly relocated its workers. However, this land was taken from the Cherokee about 30 years prior.
